I am from the Caribbean and have been in Sydney now for 30 years.   As a lawyer I believe we have a particular role to play in monitoring legislation which impacts on human rights and doing what we can to assist in the upholding of human rights in the community generally. I have been a member of the New South Wales Law Society Human Rights Committee for many years now.
